This article will explain how to access email template header and footer placeholders, as well as how to use the placeholders you have created.
Placeholders are valuable time-savers when creating phishing email and training course notification templates. Instead of manually adding the same header and footer to each email, you can create them in your settings and use placeholders.
How to access the template placeholders page
- Under 'Organisation' in the left-hand column click 'Settings'.
- From the Organisation settings list, select 'Template Placeholders'.
-
After following the above steps, you will be directed to the 'Template Placeholders' page. If you would like to learn more about all available placeholders, you can read our article here.

How to use the headers and footers template placeholders you have created
This section of the guide can be used when creating phishing email templates or training course notifications. This example will explain the process when creating a training notification.
-
In the left-hand column, under 'Training', click 'Templates', then click 'Emails'. You will then be directed to the Training Notification Email Templates page.
- Select 'Add New Notification Template'.
-
In the template editor settings bar, you will find a button titled 'Placeholders'. Click this button and scroll down until you see 'Email Header' or 'Email Footer'.
-
When you select these placeholders, they will be added to your template. Then, when you send a training course notification, the placeholders will automatically use your configured header and footer. When the end-user receives the email containing the template, they will see the Email Header and Footer that you configured.
