Azure Active Integration enables recipients to synchronise directly from Microsoft 365 into the Phishing Tackle platform. A secret key is required to be created during the configuration process, which will last for a specific period of time. When the secret key expires, it will no longer work, preventing recipient synchronisation and Active Delivery if configured.
When this happens, a new secret key must be generated, and the integration must be updated with the new key. This article will guide you through the steps of generating a new key and adding it to your Integration.
How to generate a new secret key
- Within Azure, visit the 'App registrations' page and select your configured application.
- Click 'New client secret'.
- Add a suitable description for the client secret.
-
Select how long you would like the client secret to last. Then click 'Add'. We recommend setting the expiry of the key to 1 year or to the length of your contract with Phishing Tackle. This will prevent the key from expiring while in use.
- Under the heading 'Value', copy the newly created secret key. This key will be required in the next step. Please note, if you navigate away from this page the key will be hidden forever, so make sure to copy it now to avoid repeating the process.
How to add the new secret key to your integration
With your newly created secret, update your Azure Active Integration within your Phishing Tackle account with the new key.
- Login to your Phishing Tackle account. Under SETUP in the left-hand column, select 'Organisation'.
- Click 'Settings'.
- Click on 'Active Integrations'.
- Select the drop-down arrow on the left of your integration.
- Click the drop-down menu and click 'Edit'.
- Remove the previous key and paste your new secret key under 'Secret Key'.
-
Click Save. Your recipient information will continue to be published, and Azure Active Delivery can be used.
