In this article, we will cover Phishing Tackle's CSV Recipient import function. The CSV import function is an effective method for importing multiple recipients while simultaneously adding and removing tags from each of them. We provide a sample CSV import template, making importing even simpler.

How to access CSV importing
Under 'Recipients' click 'Address book' and then 'Import Recipients'. You will then be brought to the Import Recipient screen. Successfully imported recipients will be added to 'Recipients' in the Address Book.
How to download a sample CSV
- On the 'Import Recipients' page, click the 'Download Sample CSV file' button. Once downloaded the file will be in your downloads folder as 'RecipientSample'. This file is useful as it serves as an initial template for how to structure the file.
How to import a CSV file

To import a CSV file, click the 'Browse' button, and then select the your CSV file.

Once the CSV file is selected, press 'Upload', and the CSV file will be uploaded to the platform. You will be able to view the log in CSV Import Status and you can click 'Recipients' to view who was imported.
- We recommend that you fill in all of the fields within the CSV to easily identify your recipients. If any fields are left blank, they will not be shown in the platform. The only field which is compulsory to be filled in is email address. If you import a CSV to change the details of your recipient, you must use the recipients email as it is presented in the platform. If you leave any fields blank when making changes to your recipient, the information not presented in the CSV will be removed from the recipient. (Does not apply to: AddTags, ManagerName, ManagerEmail).
Import actions
Import actions provide you with additional options on what occurs when you import your CSV file.

Do you want to archive existing recipients if they are not found in the source data?
- As the title suggests, this option will automatically archive any recipients already in your address book that are not present in the newly imported CSV file. This is useful for ensuring that only the correct and up-to-date recipients are in the active address book.

- Would you like to REPLACE all existing Recipient tags with those in this import?
- This option will remove all current tags assigned to a recipient and apply new tags specified in the CSV file.
- Selecting this option will affect all recipient tags, even if they are absent from the CSV or if they are in the address book's archived recipient list.
- If a recipient in the CSV file does not have any specified tags, any tags already assigned to that recipient will be removed. Consequently, the recipient will have no tags assigned to them after the upload is complete.
- Note: If you attempt to add a pre-existing tag using this feature, it will not be applied.
CSV import status
CSV log updates will be shown at the bottom of the Import Recipients screen each time a change is made to a recipient using a CSV file, or when a new recipient is created.
Below is an example of this. The image below displays a CSV file containing the information we would like to add to a new recipient in the platform.
After the CSV file has been imported, the log updates will show you the recipient's name, email, manager's name, and manager's email, as well as any tags that have been added or removed from the recipient.
