Although you can get a good idea of what a simulated phishing email will look like from the Email Templates page, you might want to experience exactly how it will appear when it lands in the recipients' inbox.
This is especially useful if you are working with company branded/fully bespoke templates and you are not quite sure how they will look from the recipients' perspective.
Phishing Tackle has a very quick and easy way to accomplish this from the Email Templates page, follow the steps below:
-
- From the dashboard, click Templates > Emails, under PHISHING.
- Find the template you wish to test, hover over the thumbnail and click the Magnifying Glass to preview the template, this will open a new window.
- If you are happy with how the email looks, click "SEND TEST EMAIL TO ME"
You'll receive this email template at the email address you use to log into Phishing Tackle, once it arrives in your inbox you can study and review its appropriateness for your next campaign.
NOTES:- The From address used when sending a test to yourself will always be your IT Department Placeholder, rather than the From address listed in the preview. See our Placeholders article for more information.
- Placeholders and phishing links are disabled when sending previews. These will only populate when sent from a simulated phishing campaign.
- If you would like to see which alarm bells exist in the email body, click "TOGGLE ALARM BELLS"
NOTE: These alarm bells will only be visible to the recipient if they click an email link during a simulated phishing campaign and the landing page is set to an educational page which includes the email template (e.g. "Whoops - Alarm Bells"). For more information on choosing landing pages, see this article.
- From the dashboard, click Templates > Emails, under PHISHING.
