PhishTAIL is our Microsoft Teams application that enables end-users to access their training seamlessly, eliminating the need to access the platform through a web browser. This user-friendly approach streamlines the process of completing assigned training, making it even more convenient for delegates.
With the PhishTAIL notification bot integrated into Microsoft Teams, you can also notify end-users about new training in the Teams app, ensuring a smooth and efficient training experience.
Note: If you already have a version of PhishTAIL/PhishTAIL notification bot installed please follow our guide below to remove your current version:

Downloading the manifest for Non-WhiteLabelled customers
- Go to the Organisation section on the left-hand side menu, located at the bottom and click the drop-down.
- Click on the Settings option from the drop-down to bring up the Organisation Settings.
- Click on PhishTAIL.
- Click download on both the Manifest files to download both PhishTAIL and the PhishTAIL notification bot.

Downloading the manifests for WhiteLabelled customers
- Click on your name at the top-right hand side of the screen.
- Click "Whitelabelling".
- The next step is to click the settings option named "PhishTAIL™".
- Scroll to the bottom of the PhishTAIL settings and click on the two green buttons labelled, "Download PhishTAIL app manifest file" & "Download PhishTAIL Notifications Bot Manifest File". This will download two zip files named "AppManifest.zip" and "BotManifest.zip"

Installing PhishTAIL and PhishTAIL notification bot to Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Now both manifest files have been downloaded, please navigate to you Microsoft Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/dashboard). Once you have logged into your Admin account on the left-hand side menu there will be a menu item named "Teams apps" on this menu item.
- This will display a drop-down menu, click on "Manage Apps".
- When you are on the page titled "Manage Apps" click on the button labelled "Upload new app".
- Click on the Purple "Upload" button and select the "AppManifest" zip file that was downloaded earlier. Once uploaded the following screen will appear, click on the blue text labelled "this link".
- Click on the "permissions" button to be taken to the app permissions page.
- Click on the button labelled "Review permissions and cons...", this will ask you to sign into your administrator account.

When prompted on the "Permissions requested" page click "Accept".
- Repeat step 8 to upload the manifest named "BotManifest", NOTE: This manifest file does not require any extra permissions. Now that the applications are within your Microsoft Teams admin center you can automatically install PhishTAIL on end-users' Microsoft Teams.
How to automatically install PhishTAIL on Microsoft Teams
- To install PhishTAIL and the PhishTAIL notification bot on the end user's Teams, click on the menu option labelled "Teams apps" then "Setup policies".
Note: The "Global (Org-wide default)" is the standard policy for all users. If, however, you have custom policies we recommend the below steps be completed in all policies assigned to users you wish to have access to PhishTAIL and the PhishTAIL Notification Bot. - On this page, click on the policy "Global (Org-wide default)" to edit the policy.
- From here under the section titled "Installed apps" click on the button "Add apps".
- Type "PhishTAIL" into the search bar. Then, click the "Add" button next to the "PhishTAIL" app and the "PhishTAIL Bot" Once both apps have been added, click the purple "Add" button at the bottom of the page.
How to Pin PhishTAIL to the side-menu on Microsoft Teams
- Now that you have installed both apps onto the end-user's Teams, you can pin the application to the side menu within Teams. We only recommend pinning the PhishTAIL app and not pinning the PhishTAIL notification bot.
On the "Global (Org-wide default)" policy there is a section named "Pinned Apps" on this section click the "Add apps".
- Type in PhishTAIL then click the "Add" button next to the "PhishTAIL" app. Then click the purple "Add" button at the bottom of the page.
- You can adjust the location of where the app will appear on the side menu by dragging the app using the two horizontal bars.
- Press "Save" and then confirm the changes when prompted. Logging into Microsoft Teams will now display the new PhishTAIL app on the left menu.
How to add the App ID to the Phishing Tackle PhishTAIL settings
- There is one more step to getting the notifications set up for PhishTAIL. When on the "Manage apps" screen from step 7.
- In the search box, search for PhishTAIL and click on the name of the PhishTAIL app, which will bring up the following screen. Copy the App ID shown in the blue box below.
- Go back to the PhishTAIL settings in the platform and paste the string into the section labelled "Application ID".
- Click on the box at the top "Enabled" this will enable PhishTAIL.
- Click the Green "Save" button at the top right. Once saved, PhishTAIL is all set up and ready to be used.
