Simulated phishing campaigns can use "Alarm Bell - Whoops" landing pages to educate recipients and deliver valuable information about phishing tactics.
These pages draw attention to key details in potential phishing emails through visual highlighting aspects like suspicious sender addresses, grammatical errors, and urgent language. This approach enhances recipients' awareness, enabling them to discern between genuine emails and phishing attempts more effectively.

How to add alarm bells
Alarm bells can be added to all phishing email templates. You can create your own templates or edit an existing one. We recommend adding alarm bells to information that your recipient should be wary of when reading your email, as well as any other suspicious emails they may receive in the future.
Alarm Bell Email Fields
-
To add alarm bells to email fields, such as the From Name, From Email address, Reply-to Name, Reply-to Address, and Email Subject, simply click the 'Add an Alarm Bell' button beneath each title.
-
Once you click 'Add an Alarm Bell' a pop-up window will be displayed. Write an explanation for checking this information, whether it is to ensure that the sender of the email has a recognised name or that the email address aligns with the organisation from which the email originates.
-
Once you have written your explanation and are happy with it, click "Save" at the bottom right of the pop-up. You will then see your explanation where you initially encountered the 'Add an Alarm Bell' option.
Alarm Bells in the Email Body
- To add alarm bells to the email body, simply select and highlight the desired text, link, or image you want to associate with the alarm bell.
- Once the text, link, or image is highlighted, click the alarm bell button at the top right of the section. Explain what you would like your alarm bell to convey when your recipient hovers over it.
- Once you have completed this, click 'save'. After saving, an alarm bell icon will appear next to the text, link, or image. When you hover over the text, your explanation will appear, just as it will for your recipient.
How to edit an alarm bell
If you are not happy with your alarm bell, you can change it at any time before sending it to end-users. To do this, you will need to access the phishing email template page.
How to edit an alarm bell by clicking on it
- To edit the alarm bell that you had already put into the template, double click on the text the alarm bell was created for. This will cause the pop-up to appear again, enabling you to be able to make changes, or completely change the alarm bells description.
-
Once you have made these changes, click "Save" at the bottom right of the pop-up. This action will display your new alarm bell description when hovering over the text.
