Download Our Sample CSV File
We recommend using our Sample CSV file to ensure your recipients are easily imported. You can download our Sample CSV file directly from our platform. The CSV sample will contain the following columns FirstName, LastName, Department, EmailAddress, AddTags, RemoveTags, ManagerName, and ManagerEmail.
This file can be downloaded by clicking 'Download Sample CSV File' on the Import recipients page.
Required Fields
When you are entering data into your CSV, please ensure that there is data in the Email Address field for the recipients you are adding to the platform. The email address is essential for importing a successful CSV file to our platform.
Without an email address specified, the recipient in the CSV will not be imported, and an error will be presented in the CSV log.
Domains
To ensure that your CSV file imports successfully, you must include valid email domains in the Email field of the CSV. If you add an Email with an invalid domain, the CSV will not be imported, and an error message will be presented in the CSV Log Updates.
The domain must also be in your list of verified domains, you can view your list of verified domains within your account. If you would like to learn more about how to verify a domain you can read our article below.
Updating User Information
You can use a CSV file to update recipients information in the platform. When the CSV file is imported, the import will add any new data as well as update any data which may have been changed.
Note: You cannot update a users Email with a CSV file. If you wish to change a recipients Email Address, you are able to manually. You are, however, able to change the recipients managers email with a CSV file.
Log Updates
If you input incorrect or unrecognised data into your CSV file, the CSV log update will present you with an error.
The error will inform you of what is wrong in the CSV, whether it is the recipient's first name, last name, department, email address, tags, or manager information. With this information, you can revisit your CSV file and make the necessary changes to successfully import the recipient.
